Calculating Pay for a specific number of days:
Divide the employee's monthly salary by the number of days in the month and multiply that number by the number of days worked. Example: June has 20 days and the employee earned $976 for the month by working 5 days a week. Divide $976 by 20 = $48.80 (the daily rate). Multiply $48.80 times 5 = $244.

Calculating Pay for a specific number of hours:
Divide the employee's salary by the number of hours in the month and then multiply that number by the number of hours actually worked. Example: June has 160 hours and the employee earned $976 for the month by working 19 hours. Divide $976 by 160 = $6.10 (the hourly rate). Multiply $6.10 by 19=$115.90.
